Fuels: the decline continues, record self-service

The drop in the price of oil continues to bring down the cost of fuel in Italy, even if the decline is moderated by the unfavorable exchange rate with the dollar, which is strengthening to record levels against the euro. Already on the weekend of the Immaculate Conception, the petrol and diesel price lists were filed by IP (-1 cent and -0,4 cent respectively) and Shell (-0,5 cent), followed yesterday by Eni, which cut by 1 green cent and diesel by 1,5 cents will in all likelihood set in motion a further waltz of discounts in the coming days.

In any case, the decline in prices charged in the area continues for all. According to a sample of plants representing the national situation for the QE Price Check-Up Service, the average "served" price of petrol today ranges from 1,656 euro/litre for Eni to 1,682 for Tamoil (no- logo at 1,515). For diesel, Eni's 1,583 euro/litre has gone from Tamoil's 1,611 (no-logo at 1,432). Lastly, LPG is between 0,652 euro/litre for Shell and 0,659 for TotalErg (no-logo at 0,628).

Self-service is declining even further, with minimum peaks still breaking records and averages in constant decline for no-logo and large-scale retailers (Aucha, Conad, Coop, Carrefour), but also for all the "classic" brands, which right now they are giving their best especially in full self formats h24. For Eni, for example, petrol ranges from a minimum of 1,450 euro/litre (the lowest ever) to a maximum of 1,719 (1,630 the average), while for diesel it now drops below 1,4 to 1,360 euro per litre, with an average around 1,537. For self-service diesel, the lowest price is achieved by Coop (1,359 euros per litre).
