Car sharing, the debut of Leasys (Fca) with the electric 500

A fleet of over 2.000 electric cars, of the new Fiat 500 model, will arrive in 2021 on the streets of Milan, Rome, but also Barcelona and Lyon. It's the new car sharing service launched by Leasys, the car rental company of the FCA Bank group: it's called Leasys GO!, will be usable through a special app but also through Amazon, by purchasing a voucher. However, for the public there is still a few weeks to wait: until December 2020 the service, developed in collaboration with the FCA e-Mobility team, will be available to employees of the FCA group in Turin, who will therefore be the first to test it. Then it will be accessible to everyone, in the two main Italian cities and also in two important European cities, demonstrating the international expansion of Leasys.

Compared to traditional car sharing, in addition to the lower environmental impact since the cars are electric, the formula for use also changes: when you sign up, you pay a monthly fee very competitive (at the moment the company does not specify the exact amount) and includes 2 hours of mobility per month. Once the 2 hours of sharing have been used up, the cost of the service will switch to pay-per-use mode at a cost of a few cents per minute. The electric recharging of the vehicles will be totally free and will be managed by the LeasysGO! team, and parking, as is already the case for all car sharing, will also be free in city car parks usually subject to charges or reserved for residents.

The New 500, the first FCA car born fully electric, is available in three versions: sedan, convertible and 3+1 and in the ACTION, PASSION and ICON trim levels. Today the third generation of the 500 is more technological, more connected, more spacious never and always sixteenth century. Two ranges are available: the Action has a range greater than 180 km WLTP while the Passion and the Icon have a range of up to 320 km WLTP which becomes 460 km in urban use, thanks to the Lithium-Ion batteries which have a capacity, of 23,8 kWh and 42kWh respectively. The New 500 Action is equipped with the 50 kW fast charge system which allows the car battery to be recharged in a very short time. For example, for an energy reserve sufficient to cover the daily requirement of kilometers (about 50 kilometres) less than ten minutes are needed, the time for a breakfast at the bar.

The New 500 in the Passion and Icon versions they are equipped with the 85 kW fast charge which allow the battery to be recharged in a very short time, for an energy reserve sufficient to travel 50 kilometers – more than what is necessary in average daily use – in just five minutes. And again thanks to the 85 kW fast charge, it is possible to recharge 80% of the battery in just 35 minutes. The New 500 is the first city car equipped with Autonomous Driving Level 2 and also the first FCA car equipped with the new fifth-generation UConnect 5 infotainment system.
