Rai license fee 2017, race for exemption: here's how

Today, Tuesday 31 January, is the deadline for submitting the self-declaration to the Revenue Agency to request exemption - Here's what to do in case of delay.

Rai license fee 2017, race for exemption: here's how

Anyone who doesn't have a television and wants to request an exemption from the Rai 2017 license fee (which this year drops to 90 euros) still has a few hours to resolve the matter. Today, Tuesday 31 January, is the deadline for submitting the substitutive declaration to the Revenue Agency, i.e. the self-certification with which taxpayers can communicate that they meet the requirements for not paying the tax on public television.

Furthermore, within today, those who do not have the charge on their bill but have a TV must pay the annual subscription, in this case using the F24 model.

HOW TO SUBMIT THE REPLACEMENT DECLARATION

The substitute declaration model for the exemption from the 2017 fee is available on the websites of theInland Revenue and Rai and must be presented directly by the taxpayer or heir through a web application, available on the Agency's website, using the Fisconline or Entratel credentials, or through authorized intermediaries (Caf and professionals).

In cases where electronic submission is not possible, the form can be sent, together with a valid identification document, by postal service in registered mail without an envelope to the address “Agenzia delle Entrate Ufficio di Torino 1, SAT – Sportello abbonamenti tv – PO Box 22 – 10121 Turin”.

The substitute declaration can be digitally signed and also submitted by certified e-mail to the address cp22.sat@postacertificata.rai.it.

WHAT TO DO IN THE EVENT OF A DELAY

Those who do not respect the January deadline can still send the declaration up to 30 June: in this case they will have to pay the first six months, but may be exempt in the second semester. The declaration sent from July 2018st onwards will avoid paying the fee only from XNUMX. When a new electricity user is activated during the year, however, he has until the following month to communicate that he does not have a TV, and therefore avoid the charge from the very first bill.

PAYMENT WITH F24

As regards the payment of the Rai 2017 license fee with the F24 model, it concerns those who own the TV but do not have utilities in their names, for example tenants in rent, children who live in an accommodation with utilities in their parents' names, the concierge who use the condominium accommodation. In this case the payment can be made in a single solution or in installments: in two half-yearly installments of 45,94 euros each (the second to be paid by 31 July) or four quarterly installments of 23,93 euros each (the second and the third to be paid by 30 April, 31 July and 31 October).
