On Wednesday, Candy, the last wholly Italian household appliance company, will present the new business plan and could cross the Rubicon: will it go public? We will know in a few days

Candy in the bag? We will know on Wednesday 17 May

The world of Majap, of large appliances is in turmoil, better still, in great shape. And also the last of the Mohicans, i.e. the last wholly Italian producer of White, Candy Group, under the complete control of the Fumagalli family from the outset, has decided to adopt a new industrial relaunch policy with heavy investments (70 million euros, of which 40 as a fully bonded loan from the shareholders and 30 as a non-repayable loan as Ansa first revealed). An industrial plan that will be communicated in detail on Wednesday 17th and which, according to the usual rumors, could also be accompanied by a pre-announcement of a major event, the debut of the Brianza group on the Stock Exchange. Actually Candy has a lot of news to tell because the use of such a large financial "reservoir" means an acceleration of the relaunch of those design and industrial skills that made it famous in the washing sector in the golden years of the boom and in the following decades , under the banner of a hugely successful claim, "Thank you Candy", when the Brianza group weighed in the washing sector with shares of around 30% of sales in Italy. Then came the crises and above all the one that began in 2008 and which still marks the market for household appliances negatively, with vertical collapses in consumption. Candy, which returned to profit in 2016, has finally surpassed its pre-crisis turnover, with over one billion euros.

Closes in Czechia, and invests in IoT-Not only a strengthening with a massive "return" in the world of laundry, but also with Hoover a further strengthening in the floor care and large high-end home appliances sector. And with the closure of the first delocalized factory, that of refrigerators in Czechia, which caused many headaches, the international operating scene is strengthened elsewhere with the latest agreement in China with an industry in the sector for the sale of Candy brand washing machines in China . Even those refrigerators that no longer come from Czechia and that will never again be produced in Italy are made in China. But Candy's great trump card seems to be the innovation of the IoT, because while the giants of White are constantly announcing the presentation of super-connected appliances (many announcements, very few realities) Candy was the first to present a complete IoT collection two years ago , Simply-Fi and Wizard for Hoover, really available. Too soon? Maybe not, because it's not about home automation, expensive, complicated, weighed down by disputes over protocols and standards, but about a flexible way of interactively managing the house remotely to save money and for maximum security. The key, however, will be the boom in gastronomy, in TV-star cuisine and in the now established fashion of making one's own and others' cooking prowess travel online and on smartphones. To return to the presentation of the group's results, what, so to speak, inspired the rumors about a possible debut on the Stock Exchange? The fact that for the first time Candy is joined in the press conference by the intervention of Ad Hoc Communication Advisors, which operates in corporate and financial communication, and is a member of Amì partnership, the association of agencies that follow companies along the quotation. We will see.
