Canada, attack on the mosque: 6 dead

Six people have been killed in a shooting at a mosque in Quebec City, Canada. This was announced by the president of the mosque itself, Mohamed Yangui. There are eight wounded. Two people have been arrested.

Yangui said the shooting took place in the men's section of the mosque, that the victims are all male and that he feared there may be children. The president of the Center added that he was not in the mosque at the time of the attack but was able to provide some details that were told to him by people who witnessed the shooting. A group estimated at between 60 and 100 people was likely inside the centre.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called the Quebec City mosque bombing "a terrorist attack against Muslims", underlining in a statement that it is "heartbreaking to see such senseless violence".
