Camusso: Landini's request for a general strike is out of time

The secretary general of the CGIL replied to the leader of the Fiom arguing that a permanent and widespread mobilization organized through specific interventions on the territory is needed. And he adds: "Shift the weight of the taxation of workers and pensioners towards assets and wealth"

Camusso: Landini's request for a general strike is out of time

Susanna Camusso, secretary general of the CGIL, declared that a permanent mobilization is needed against the cuts contained in the maneuver which affect employees and pensioners. As for the request of the Fiom leader, Maurizio Landini, for a general strike, you defined it as "out of time". “Landini – said Camusso during a meeting made up of managers and delegates of the reformist wing of the Fiom – refers to a classic scheme calling for a general strike but is out of time for the umpteenth time. We have already indicated the path of a mobilization that will last over time”.

According to the general secretary of the CGIL, the general strike is not useful for improving the maneuver “because if the timing is wrong, it damages the workers, a widespread mobilization and interventions on the territory are needed. The maneuver - he added - needs to be discussed with great attention because in addition to the tickets and cuts to local authorities there are many things that are not seen and are the worst part for the workers ". Among the measures that hit workers the most, according to Camusso, there is the question of cutting deductions "because there are only two ways to reach the billions of savings indicated, with deductions on the production of income that concern employees and pensioners and the deductions for dependent children. Between now and 2013 is the time to change the way in which balances are reached, therefore a mobilization is needed - he concluded - to shift the burden of taxation of workers and pensioners towards assets and wealth".
