SERIE A CHAMPIONSHIP – Milan knocked out by a Berardi hat-trick

The Rossoneri lose again against Sassuolo, but this time some unfavorable referee decisions weigh on the 3-2 final – Inzaghi: “I have a contract with Milan and I would be honored to stay again next year”, but the club has other plans.

SERIE A CHAMPIONSHIP – Milan knocked out by a Berardi hat-trick

Berardi's festival. But also the errors of the referee Guide, which greatly conditioned the hot afternoon in Emilia. Ghost goals, dubious offsides, penalties not given and questionable expulsions: the Sassuolo-Milan roster has it all. All this is of little interest to Domenico Berardi, a striker with ups and downs during the season but devastating every time he sees the Rossoneri. A quadruplet in January 2014, a hat-trick yesterday. And if a year and a half ago his poker decided Allegri's exemption, these three goals certify Inzaghi's, albeit at the end of the season.

“I have a contract with Milan and I would be honored to stay again next year – Superpippo glossed over. – I am attached to this club and I still have a lot to give”. Difficult, if not impossible, for society to accept this appeal. The standings see the team in eleventh place, 37 points behind leaders Juve and only 10 more than fourth-last Atalanta. A disaster across the board, which goes far beyond yesterday's defeat. That, to tell the truth, can also be explained by some very unfavorable refereeing decisions.

In fact, after a decent start, Milan found themselves down by a goal without actually having conceded: Berardi kicked from distance, Diego Lopez didn't hold back and the ball danced on the goal line. For the assistant Damato it's a goal and Guida can't help but validate. The images, on the other hand, justify the Rossoneri's protests, because the ball didn't go in completely. The 1-0 hurt Milan who conceded their second goal in the 33rd minute: Missiroli launched for Berardi and an unstoppable shot made it 2-0.

Here too, however, there is an important refereeing spot: at the time of the assist, the attacker is offside, albeit by very little. The (double) blow was strong but the Rossoneri, against all odds, reacted. Two minutes later Bonaventura takes the ball, wedges himself into the area and beats Consigli with an elegant and precise touch (2-1). The match is fun, on the other hand the teams don't have particular ranking objectives and can play without too many calculations. At the start of the second half, Milan equalized through Alex (51') and here too there was a mistake by Guida: the Brazilian in fact committed a foul on Consigli, nobody noticed and the goal was validated.

The balance does not last long because in the 57th minute Bonaventura, already booked, hits the ball with his arm: the expulsion, by regulation, is fine, even if the former Atalantino seems more than anything else to protect his face. Sassuolo took advantage of the numerical superiority and in the 32nd minute, after having already touched the 3-2 previously, they found him with the usual Berardi, who scored with a play like a great opportunist. The match, in fact, ends here and the expulsion of Suso (sacrosanct) only serves to increase Milan's frustration.

“All these episodes conditioned the match – explained Inzaghi. – After this match it is difficult to talk about football”. Yes, yet the Rossoneri's problems certainly don't come from Reggio Emilia. That's why, despite Guida's arbitration, certain alibis almost make you smile.
