SERIE A CHAMPIONSHIP - Roma waste another opportunity: with Toro only equal (1 to 1)

SERIE A CHAMPIONSHIP – The Giallorossi are no longer able to win and in Turin, after going ahead with Pjanic thanks to a Padelli duck, they are restarted in the 93rd minute by a dubious penalty converted by Maxi Lopez – Garcia: “The penalty wasn't there and we lost 2 very heavy points” – Gervinho stops and now comes the hour of truth in the Champions League

SERIE A CHAMPIONSHIP - Roma waste another opportunity: with Toro only equal (1 to 1)

Another wasted opportunity. There Roma he confirms all his fragility also in Turin, where he manages to throw away a victory with practically expired time. Of course, many doubts remain on the decisive episode (penalty converted by Maxi Lopez in full stoppage time) (the intervention of Manolas, broken down, seems to be on the ball), but the Giallorossi have complicated their lives with yet another defensive mess from Rudiger , which once again appeared totally inadequate.

"There was no penalty, Manolas touches the ball and therefore it can't be a foul – commented Garcia. – It can happen, for heaven's sake, but we certainly lost 2 very heavy points". Reducing everything to the episode, however, would be rather superficial. Roma have proved to be still recovering and this, just a few days after the huge match with Bate Borisov, is a far from encouraging sign. Also because, in the decisive match in the Champions League, he risks not being there Gervinho, released in the first half for a resentment to the right femoral rectus. The Ivorian returned after a break of a few weeks: deploying him already in Turin was an enormous risk and in fact it turned out to be so.

“Let's hope it's nothing serious – sighed Garcia. – He was only expected to play once, I hope he can recover because we will need all our strength".

The moment is difficult and the match in Turin further confirmed it. Roma, lined up with the usual 4-3-3 with Gervinho, Dzeko and Iago Falque in attack, he showed all his fears right from the start. A lot of attention in the defensive phase without creating almost anything up front, testifying to a short and, perhaps, inadequate blanket.

Torino, despite coming close to scoring with Belotti after just 4', he adapted to the opponent and so a very tactical and not very funny match came out. Script that also continued in the second half until the 84th minute: there the "award-winning company" Pjanic-Padelli took the chair, the first with an insidious free-kick, the second with a duck that allowed it to turn into a goal. Rome took the lead on the first shot (if you can call it that) on goal and Turin foaming with rage. But the scenario changed drastically 10 minutes later: wrong clearance by Rudiger and intervention on the edge by Manolas on Belotti who Damato judged from a penalty.

On the floppy it went Maxi Lopez and the grenades have earned a draw which, on balance, satisfies them much more than Roma. Now the top of the standings is 5 points and today, if Napoli win in Bologna, the gap could even increase. But perhaps, rather than continuing to look ahead, the time has come to protect one's back: Juve are just one point away and soon Milan too could be very close.
