SERIE A CHAMPIONSHIP - Lazio with one more man for Buffon's expulsion stops Juventus: 1 to 1

And at the 13th Juventus stopped. In an Olimpico that hasn't been doing very well lately, the Lady interrupts the streak of consecutive victories and today risks being approached by the direct pursuer Roma. Having said that, the 1-1 final is closer to Lazio and, all in all, it can be considered a point earned. Playing outnumbered for over an hour and still being able to come back from a goal disadvantage is a sign of great mental as well as physical solidity, but there has been no doubt about this for some time now. On the other hand, Lazio's performance by Reja leaves us pleasantly surprised, a distant relative of Petkovic's dull version. The Biancocelesti recriminated, stopped by the crossbar and the post, as well as by an excellent (and lucky) Storari, but Saturday at the Olimpico could also be considered positive for them.

As expected on the eve, Antonio Conte leaves Pirlo on the bench and focuses on Marchisio in the control room. The other novelty (obligatory though) is Ogbonna in place of the suspended Chiellini. However, the former grenade makes us miss the very titular Giorgione and in the 25th minute Klose's cut is lost and he comes face to face with Buffon. The Juventus captain tries a desperate exit ending up overwhelming the German: the referee Massa has no doubts and decrees penalty and expulsion. Conte redesigns Juve by removing Asamoah for Storari, who however can do nothing about Candreva's spot kick (27'). The episode unlocks the match, in every sense. Because the tactics of the first part leave room for a vibrant match, in which the black and whites try to play the game anyway (4-4-1 with Tevez wide on the left and Llorente the only striker) and Lazio responds with sharp counterattacks. It's in the second half that the match finally gets rid of any calculations, thus becoming truly beautiful and exciting.

The hosts try to hit a throw-in with Candreva, but his right-footed shot goes high (58'). Wrong goal, conceded goal. In fact, two minutes later Tevez triggered Lichtsteiner, a cross from the Swiss for Llorente's head, a splendid twist and a ball behind Berisha (1-1). The goal seemed to galvanize Juve who came close to making a sensational 62-1 draw with Tevez in the 2nd minute, but this time the Lazio goalkeeper was careful. From that moment, however, it was the hosts who pushed the accelerator, as demonstrated by the two incredible wasted opportunities signed by Klose and Keita. On the first (76') there is the complicity of Storari, who deflects the German's confident (but central) header onto the crossbar, on the second instead there is only bad luck. In fact, the young Lazio striker, who came on for Candreva a few seconds ago, takes aim and lets loose a splendid right-footed shot that incredibly hits the post, before ending up in Storari's arms.

It's the last real emotion of a match that ends 1-1, with a point that's good for both. Because if it's true that Juve could lose two points against Roma, it's equally true that this team practically never breaks down.
