SERIE A CHAMPIONSHIP - Juve finds Vidal and Llorente again and liquidates Palermo (2 to 0) by detaching Roma

Juventus (re) takes off and returns alone to the top of the standings. Against Palermo, Allegri's men achieved victory, thus bringing them to more than 3 over Roma and closing the past week, made bitter by the draw with Sassuolo and, above all, by the defeat of Athens in the Champions League. It's not yet a transcendental Juve but in the league, evidently, it's enough and more to line up all the opponents. With yesterday's victories are 7 in 8 games, impressive numbers to which must be added the home successes, 23 consecutive between the last two seasons. Lots of good news on Sunday for Juventus, starting with Llorente's return to goalscoring, who scored for the first time under the guidance of Massimiliano Allegri. Vidal's goal should also be underlined, finally improving after a subdued start to the season and Pereyra's ductility, deployed in the unprecedented role of right winger with rather satisfactory results. But not all that glitters is gold: Pirlo continues to struggle.

“Andrea is recovering from an injury that kept him out for 40 days – explained Allegri. – He needs to play and against Palermo he improved. And then it's enough to talk about me as the one who kicked him out of Milan, I went there to be a head cutter but it's not like that ". However, the Juventus coach can still be satisfied with the victory, obtained among other things by resting some important men. Above all Lichtsteiner and Pogba, with Pereyra outside in midfield and Marchisio in the old role of inside left. Choices that proved successful even if the game expressed was certainly not transcendental. For a good half hour Juventus struggled to find outlets, the "fault" of a well-placed Palermo but also, if not above all, of a slow and predictable maneuver, as well as being quite imprecise.

But just when the rosanero gained confidence and discovered themselves a little, the game-changing goal arrived. Well done Pereyra in recovering the ball and launching Tevez, an intelligent assist from the Argentine for Vidal's diagonal shot (32'). The 1-0 forced Palermo to raise their center of gravity, thus allowing the Italian champions to find more space up front. But rather than verticalizing in search of doubling, as in Conte's time, Allegri's Juve loves to manage the ball to tame the game. This was the tactical outline of the second half and it is no coincidence that the 2-0 goal only came from a free kick.

Llorente's gap (64') on Pirlo's corner was imperious, even if the goal could have been disallowed due to Tevez's millimeter (active?) offside. In any case, the match ended at that moment and the rest of the game was more useful for rotating the men (Pereyra, Pirlo and Tevez out, Lichtsteiner, Pogba and Giovinco in) than for the show. For that, perhaps, there will be time later. Because now Juventus, who will face Gasperini's Genoa at the Marassi on Wednesday, are only in a hurry to score points.
