SERIE A CHAMPIONSHIP - Milan smiles halfway: first it lights up and then it goes out, equal with Toro (1-1)

SERIE A CHAMPIONSHIP – The Rossoneri play well in the first part of the match and score through Bacca but then concede Baselli's equalizer and shut down even risking the mockery of the former Maxi Lopez. Mihajlovic: "We lack personality: we played well until our goal and then we stopped"

SERIE A CHAMPIONSHIP - Milan smiles halfway: first it lights up and then it goes out, equal with Toro (1-1)

A half smile. Just like Milan's performance: good and convincing up to Bacca's advantage, ugly and shaky for the remaining half hour of play. Thus a contradictory draw comes out of the Olimpico in Turin, not so much for the result (that, on the eve, would have been welcomed positively) but for the ways in which it arrived. If on a tactical level there have been big improvements, the same cannot be said from a mental point of view: the team plays discreetly, then, at the first difficulties, they turn off the light. “I always have to say the same things – Mihajlovic's disconsolate comment. – We played well until our goal, then we stopped. We risked almost nothing, then we conceded the goal on the first pitch. We lack in personality, we have to learn to manage matches."

Once again the Serbian didn't hide, on the other hand the ranking leaves little space for various justifications. Eleventh place (and Juve could put the arrow today) is far from their initial ambitions, but if nothing else, yesterday's performance can lead to a little more optimism. In fact, Mihajlovic may have found the crux of the matter with the 4-3-3, which made it possible to contain Torino and create a fair number of goal chances. “I reiterate that it's not the formations that win games but I have to say that we were very compact – the post-match analysis. – We defended ourselves so well that I didn't think I would concede a goal: unfortunately, however, the period is not the best…".

For an abundant hour we saw more than enough AC Milan: short, compact and gritty, in perfect Sinisa's style. What was lacking in the first part was above all the incisiveness in the goal area, with Luiz Adriano lost and Cerci a prisoner of his inexplicable involution. At the beginning of the second half, the move that seemed to give the turning point: the Brazilian out and Bacca in, left at rest after the intercontinental trip. But the Colombian immediately demonstrated that he had disposed of the fuse by bagging Bertolacci's assist, for an advantage that exploded the AC Milan fans (63'). A downhill match also because Turin, until then, had been almost non-existent.

Then, as per (bad) habit, the metamorphosis into a negative. The grenades threw themselves into the attack and the Devil, who shortly before had even nearly doubled with Berry himself, sank back into his fears. In the 73rd minute Baselli picked up Belotti's assist and killed Diego Lopez (far from free of fault) on his post: 1-1 and ball in the center. In the final, Toro came close to a sensational 2-1 with Maxi Lopez, thus canceling out the good things shown by the Rossoneri in the first part of the match. "We will get out of this situation, the championship is still long and Lazio's recovery proves it" Mihajlovic comments. However, more than certainty, it smacks of hope.
