SERIE A CHAMPIONSHIP – Milan in Verona to win, Inter and Napoli against the fear of losing

After the break for the national team's commitments, on Sunday in the championship the matches between Verona and Milan and the one, postponed, between Inter and Napoli stand out.

The Rossoneri will be on stage at the Bentegodi, in the sadly "fatal" Verona for the Rossoneri colors. A bewitched field not only in the famous matches of 20 May 1973 (Verona-Milan 5-3) and 22 April 1990 (Verona-Milan 2-1) which cost two championships, but also last year, when on the first matchday the Rossoneri they were defeated 2-1, the start of a championship to forget. Inzaghi believes in the possibility of winning to confirm himself in the top parts of the standings, and to give continuity to his team's results: “We hope to play a great game – said Inzaghi -. Verona is not a lucky field for us, we have to give it our all. I say that Verona, even without Iturbe and Romulo, are stronger this year. But we are Milan and we have to give continuity." Doubts abound: Diego Lopez or Abbiati in goal, Menez and Bonaventura recovering from Poli and Torres. El Shaarawy should play from the first minute, who defined himself as "pissed off" after three consecutive benches against Empoli, Cesena and Chievo: "El Shaarawy said some things that we really appreciate – explained the Rossoneri coach -, I too I used to get angry when I didn't play. The important thing is that this anger is expressed in the right way and that the desire to play is also demonstrated during training. I would have been angry if he had said that he was happy, indeed thank goodness that he said these things. You see that he has taken from me ”.

At San Siro, on the other hand, they will face two big disappointments in this first part of the season. Inter, back from two consecutive defeats against Cagliari and Fiorentina, know they can't afford any more missteps, and Mazzarri devotes himself to pragmatism, because in such a delicate moment it's useless to go too subtle: "I expect a redemption from part of the team – said Mazzarri presenting the match against Napoli – there are thirty games and there are many points up for grabs. We aim to be in the group of those fighting for the Champions League. Balance sheets must be made at the end, not after 6 games. Right now I would like to start getting results, the good game will come". The Inter coach deliberately glossed over the booing that often accompanies him at San Siro (“Booing doesn't do anyone any good. The fans, not just those of Inter, must cheer on their team and then at the end point out any dissent. Contesting during the match makes the boys lose conviction"), just as he did not want to comment on the words of Fassone, who had called him "safe": "Am I in danger? I do not know. I train…”.

Rafa Benitez is not doing much better, despite the two consecutive victories against Sassuolo and Turin. Napoli's season up to now has been below expectations, and everyone expects a turning point: “If we win this match, our confidence will grow a lot – explained the Spaniard -, in my opinion we can compete with everyone. Inter are one of the strongest teams in the championship, the quality and value of the squad and Mazzarri are not in question. My return to Milan? When I arrived there were 15 players over 30, it was unlikely they were still on the pitch. It's now a game like any other for me."
