SERIE A CHAMPIONSHIP – Genoa liquidates Milan and closes the Inzaghi era

The Ligurians win after 53 years at San Siro against Milan (1 to 3) and close the inglorious era of SuperPippo who at any moment will be sacked and replaced by Christian Brocchi - The performance of the very booed Rossoneri is unwatchable - Today Berlusconi will decide whether to accept Bee's offer of 500 million for 51% of the club or wait for the relaunch

SERIE A CHAMPIONSHIP – Genoa liquidates Milan and closes the Inzaghi era

The end of an era. That of Inzaghi, who has come to an end after 13 years with Milan, but also, if not above all, of Berlusconi, who is ever closer to selling the club. A disastrous Wednesday for the Devil, also defeated by Genoa and now very far from any European ambitions, as well as contested by the (little) San Siro crowd, now resigned to the failure of a season. A total debacle that of the Rossoneri, completely unable to react to the fool of Udine: and so Genoa, highly motivated by the situation in the standings, had an easy life in finding the three points in the Milanese temple, moreover waiting for 53 years. Deserved success for the rossoblu, without ifs and buts: this is why, now more than ever, Inzaghi's bench is hanging by a thread.

“The club will reflect and make the best decision, however I won't give up – declared the coach immediately after the match. – I will go around with my head held high, I have no regrets because I have always given everything. I'm just sorry it wasn't enough." Farewell words, because he too realizes the seriousness of the situation. Milan simply got out of hand, full stop. It is no coincidence that the club has already alerted Brocchi, the Primavera coach, in an attempt to end the season with the dignity lacking in the last few games. For now, Inzaghi remains in command, but the turnaround could come at any moment.

On the other hand, the team has raised the white flag, as we saw from the first minutes of yesterday's match. After so many chances, thwarted by a great Diego Lopez, Genoa took the lead through Bertolacci, author of a personal action in the midst of the fine Rossoneri figurines (37'). Milan's reaction? Not at all. The rossoblu continued to play the game and at the start of the second half they doubled their lead: shot by Tino Costa and deflection by Niang, irony of the fate of ownership by the rossonera. Mexes' goal (66') was just a resurgence of pride, because the hosts never gave the feeling of being able to get back into the game. Genoa's third goal (Iago Falque from a penalty in the 93rd minute) served only to round off an already closed victory, valid for a serious candidacy for the next Europa League.

While Milan was being humiliated, Silvio Berlusconi met Bee Taechaubol. A meeting that lasted 4 hours, which was also attended by representatives of Ads Security, the Abu Dhabi bank, the financier Pablo Victor Dana and the CEO Barbara. Mr Bee presented his offer: 500 million for 51% of the club. Berlusconi took a night to decide what to do and today, in all likelihood, he will give an official answer. All while awaiting the relaunch of Richard Lee, intermediary of the Chinese consortium, according to the most favored by virtue of an offer of 600 million, in exchange for 60%.
