CHAMPIONSHIP - Juve conquers Verona (2 to 1) and returns alone to the top of the standings: Inter and Lazio knock out

CHAMPIONSHIP - The Italian champions conquer Verona by beating Chievo 2 to 1 (goals from Matri and Lichtsteiner) and return to the top of the standings on their own - Napoli remain three points behind but are the real anti-Juve - Inter collapse ( 3 to 1 in Siena) and Lazio (3 to 2 with Genoa) – Waiting for the debut of Balotelli in Milan who faces Udinese at San Siro

Napoli roars and Juventus responds. The Italian champions, frightened by the Neapolitan comeback after Napoli's success yesterday (2-0) against Catania and above all made more uncertain after their recent not always brilliant performances, responded well in Verona by beating Chievo who only a week ago had defeated Lazio in Rome. Di Matri (a goal to Trezeguet) and Lichsteiner (the true protagonist of the day) the black and white goals, all in the first half. In the second half Chievo tried to reopen the game with a goal from Thereau but the Juventus defense was not surprised.
Anelka's debut has been postponed. Now Juve are back at the top of the standings with three points ahead of Mazzarri's team, which is the real anti-Juve.

The football day also recorded the thuds of Inter and Lazio. The Nerazzurri stumbled in Siena (3-1) despite the debut of the three new players (Schelotto, Kovacic and Kutnezov) and Cassano's initial goal which had deceived Inter.

Second consecutive defeat in the league for Lazio, who evidently pays for the effort in the semi-final of the Italian Cup: they lost 3 to 2 in the final despite having recovered two goals.

Finally, great expectations for Milan and for Balotelli's debut against Udinese at the San Siro.
