CHAMPIONSHIP – Milan finally makes Milan: they win and convince by beating Chievo 5-1

Finally Milan! The round victory over Chievo (5-1) made us forget, even if only for a few hours, all the problems of a very troubled season so far, but perhaps still recoverable. Because the team seen yesterday has a tactical and technical sense that bodes well for the future. Which is called Malaga, a far from irresistible opponent (yesterday they lost 1-2 at home against Rayo Vallecano) but leader of the Champions League group, to be beaten at all costs in order not to risk overtaking Zenit.

Returning to Chievo, Milan showed up with a 4-2-3-1 formation and this is no small detail. In fact, this season, the best performances have come with that game system, adopted in the away games in Parma and St. Petersburg (the first draw 1-1, the second won 2-3) and in the derby undeservedly lost. Then Allegri changed everything, moving first to a three-man defence, then to a 5-half; decisions that have unleashed the wrath of Berlusconi and Galliani, who were rather satisfied yesterday. “Is Milan back? I think so, I just heard from the president and we said the same thing: 'we looked like Milan tonight' – declared the CEO after the match. – He really liked Bojan, and he told me to compliment the coach ”.

Thanks to this convincing victory, he strengthens his position, which is still shaky. However, yesterday's choices go in the direction desired by the club: 4-2-3-1, with Bojan behind Pazzini and two offensive wingers like El Shaarawy and Emanuelson. It is no coincidence that all four forwards scored, even if, once again, the palm of the best is taken by the Italian-Egyptian (1 goal and 1 assist). The excellent performance of Montolivo (also in the net) should also be underlined, increasingly included in the Rossoneri maneuver. The only drawback, yet another goal conceded from a free kick. This time it was Pellissier who enjoyed freedom in the AC Milan area, but in general the problem is much wider and absolutely needs to be solved. “We still need to improve on some things – Allegri admitted – but we are on the right track to gain some satisfaction even in a complicated year. After a period of crisis, also caused by our own shortcomings, we needed an evening like this and we deserved it". The standings are still pretty sad, but last week's progress (7 points in 3 games) is the right one. The Rossoneri must continue like this and never stop: the road is steep, but there is still time to get back up.
