Camfin denies: no agreement with Malacalza. But the title continues to fly on the stock market

Camfin denies it the indiscretions published today by "Il Messaggero" on an alleged preliminary agreement for the divorce between Tronchetti Provera and the Malacalza family. The clarification comes with a note from the spokesman of Mtp Sapa, the company-safe of the Tronchetti Provera family at the top of the chain of control that reaches Pirelli through the Camfin holding.

"For many months now, as known to the market, there has been a dispute with the Malacalza family - reads the text - and it is natural, also in the light of the provisions contained in the agreements with the Malacalza family itself, that there are contacts to reach to a settlement of the dispute. Furthermore, as the market has known for a long time, there have been talks and contacts with investors of an industrial and financial nature interested in accompanying processes for rationalizing Camfin's ownership structure. As stated several times, there were no agreements, not even preliminary ones, in this regard, and there are currently no agreements. Inaccurate and even partial inferences and reconstructions on possible operations, conveyed by the media, must be attributed to the exclusive responsibility of their authors. Anyone who invests in listed securities on the basis of such inferences or reconstructions, in the absence of official communications, does so under their own responsibility".

Today, the Roman newspaper writes that a meeting should be held next Wednesday between Marco Tronchetti Provera's lawyers and those of the Malacalza family to evaluate the possibility of a compromise. In view of this appointment, reports the newspaper, the consultants of Clessidra, Unicredit and Intesa Sanpaolo should define an intervention plan on Camfin aimed at shortening the chain over the next weekend.

The rumors gave wings to the Camfin and Pirelli shares on the stock exchange, which at the beginning of the afternoon were still gaining 3,67 and 3% respectively
