Chambers of Commerce, the ax falls: from 95 to 60

The number of Italian Chambers of Commerce has been practically halved, according to the provisions of a decree of the Mise, thanks to "the mergers and the redetermination of the territorial districts".

Chambers of Commerce, the ax falls: from 95 to 60

Yesterday, Tuesday 8 August, the Minister of Economic Development Carlo Calenda signed the decree for the reform and reorganization of the Chambers of Commerce. This can be read in a note from the Mise which explains: "with the mergers and the redetermination of the territorial districts, the number of Chambers of Commerce will go from 95 to 60, just as the number of special companies is redefined, going from the current 96 to 58″.

“The decree rationalises the entire sector and makes it more efficient – explains Calenda -. A process started in 2016 has been completed on the basis of the Unioncamere proposal which results in an overall rationalization plan for the offices of the individual Chambers of Commerce. The reform will bring important savings, a more rational reallocation of personnel, more business services and a remodeling of the offer also in relation to the opportunities of the Industry 4.0 plan".
