Chamber, more than 400 deputies out of 630 do not put their income on the Internet: why? Here is the list

Here is the list of the over 400 deputies who - until 15 pm on 28 February - had not put their income on the Internet: why? Doing so, like President Monti, would be an act of elementary transparency and citizens could know the politicians' balance sheet with a simple click: it's not a habit or a fashion but a fact of democracy.

Chamber, more than 400 deputies out of 630 do not put their income on the Internet: why? Here is the list

Transparency? MEPs do not appear to be rushing to put their balance sheets online. More than 400, therefore two-thirds of the deputies, have not yet done so, dropping the example of Mario Monti and his ministers who have had no hesitation in posting their economic situation on the Internet.

The incomes of parliamentarians are public, by law they must file the declarations and integrate them if variations occur during the mandate. So they are available. But the immediacy and diffusion that the Internet allows are unmatched. But to put the statements online, the specific authorization of the individual parliamentarian is required, who must sign a specific release. At the moment more than 400 deputies (the update photographs the situation at 15 pm on 28 February) have still not given their ok.

It is probable that this number has decreased in the meantime: in fact, the process provides that once consent has been sent to being placed on the network, the tax return is purified of any personal references and sensitive data before appearing on the Internet. A job that involves the necessary checks and steps and therefore takes time. In fact, at 15 pm on 28 February only 216 deputies, led by the president of the Chamber, had given their consent to put their balance sheet online.

So let's see who the latecomers are. Reiterating that in the meantime some deputies may have given the go-ahead for total transparency of their financial status via the internet.
