Chamber, today the vote on the constitutional reform of the Senate

The constitutional reform that transforms the Senate is today in the vote of the Chamber of Deputies: Berlusconi, denying the previous vote, has asked his followers to vote against but Forza Italia is splitting and a part is to support the reform wanted by the Renzi government, who has already said he wants to go straight, especially after the yes from Bersani – Fuori Grillo.

Chamber, today the vote on the constitutional reform of the Senate

The Democratic Party regroups (in part), Forza Italia splits, M5S pulls itself out. The House vote on constitutional reform, scheduled for 12, gives a jolt to the balance of politics. The text, which contains the revolution of the Senate and the reform of Title V of the Constitution, is different from the one already approved at Palazzo Madama last August, so - after approval in Montecitorio - the reform will have to return to the Senate. At that point it will pass to the second reading in both chambers and, if the measure is not approved with a majority of at least two thirds, it can be submitted to a referendum without a quorum.

Silvio Berlusconi he asked his followers to vote against, reversing the vote given in August. Several members ofForza Italy however, they are tempted to abstain from, if not even support, reforms. Yesterday at the group meeting convened by Renato Brunetta no more than 25 deputies out of almost 70 were present. The verdict that today keeps the former Knight in suspense, however, is another: that of the Cassation on the Ruby trial, which could confirm the acquittal arrived on appeal (after conviction in the first instance) or order the repetition of the trial in the second instance.

On the front Pd, after the all-out battle linked to the Jobs Act, the current led by Pier Luigi Bersani is reunited with the government and assures that it will vote in favor of the constitutional reform. The dissidents Pippo Civati, Stefano Fassina and Stefano Damiano continue to be against. For its part, the Executive has postponed the Council of Ministers on school reform and Rai from today to Thursday (17.30 pm).

As for the Movement 5 Stars, its deputies will leave the Chamber when the Montecitorio assembly expresses itself today on the Boschi bill. Meanwhile, in an open letter addressed to his former M5 colleagues, Senator Lorenzo Battista (who moved to the Misto group) asked his former colleagues to help set up a group that aspires to join the majority, "with a possible request to have a dicastery, the direction of which could also be covered by a technician". Before him, another defector from the Grillo and Casaleggio Movement had entered the majority: Fabiola Antinori, who merged into the Ncd.
