Generali, Caltagirone exceeds 3,5%

Francesco Gaetano Caltagirone exceeds Generali's 3,5% share. From Borsa Italiana's internal dealing communications it emerges that the Roman entrepreneur, through Fincal, has purchased one million shares of the company in two separate transactions. The first block of 500 shares was bought on 17 January at an average price of 13,6212 euros and the second (still of 500 shares) was bought on 18 January at a price of 13,4796 euros. The total investment was therefore 13,5 million euros. The shares represent 0,064% of Generali's capital and together with the 3,49% already owned, bring Caltagirone's stake to 3,55%.

At the same time, the entrepreneur also bought financial instruments which give the right to sell shares for one million shares. Francesco Gaetano Caltagirone, who sits on the board of directors of the company with the role of vice president, is currently the second shareholder of Generali behind Mediobanca which has 13,04% and ahead of Leonardo Del Vecchio's Delfin (3,16%). In Piazza Affari, the share of the insurance company closed up 1,25% at 13,72 euros.
