Callieri buys half a page in the Corriere: "Solidarity with Mattarella"

"I, the undersigned common citizen, would like to publicly express, however little it may be worth, full support, solidarity and affection for President Sergio Mattarella". This was written by Carlo Callieri, a former Fiat executive and in the past a leading exponent of Confindustria (twice vice president and defeated competitor in the race for president with Antonio D'Amato) and of the Compagnia di San Paolo. He published his message for a fee today, Tuesday 8 May, on page 17 of the Corriere della Sera. The title is "Communication of Solidarity and Full Support".

Callieri, who left Fiat in '98 together with Cesare Romiti and has since become a successful private entrepreneur, defines Mattarella as "the last father of the country" and praises him "for his tireless commitment to overcoming the swamp in which our Italy is exhausted, and to start a process of relaunching uncertain identities and unaware destinies in which we tear ourselves apart, in an increasingly difficult international framework in which we earn less than respect for everything".
