Telecom Italia call center: referendum coming soon

The negotiation ended on Monday between Telecom Italy and sindacati on the rearrangement of call center. The company announced it yesterday evening, specifying that it had proposed "significant interventions aimed at simplifying processes, optimizing the service and enhancing internal resources".

If the proposed text is accepted by the workers - continues the company -, it will be possible to overcome the corporateisation project of the Caring Division (i.e. that of the call centres) envisaged by the agreement signed by the trade union organizations in 2013, as well as to keep 39 of the 52 territorial offices for which the closure and transfer of personnel to neighboring offices had been decided with the same agreement. The transition to full-time employment of 100 part-time workers and the one-off payment of 200 euros to over 9 employees in the Caring division are also envisaged.

Telecom also informs that, after six months of negotiations, in the absence of a totalitarian approval by the unions and by virtue of the sole opposition of the Slc-Cgil, it was decided to submit the text to a referendum among the colleagues of the Caring Services Division within next December 20th.

Meanwhile, today at the opening the Telecom Italia share on the Stock Exchange gained 1,46%, to 0,904 euros, achieving the best rise of the Ftse Mib. According to Il Sole 24 Ore, Telecom Italia is said to be accelerating the analysis of the merger between the subsidiary Tim Brasil and Oi.
