The Third pole. Has been defined the election between the leader of Italia viva, Matteo Renzi, and that of Action, Carlo Calenda, for the constitution of the centrist list. But the agreement has truly reached its final stage, also because the bell will ring over the weekend and the deadline for presenting the lists will expire. There would still be a few pieces missing on the candidacies and the programme, the basic team is there. The division of colleges 50-50, the name of Calenda as leader in the symbol with the logo of the two parties and the predominance in the TV participation shares to the leader of Azione. "I gladly let Carlo Calenda lead the electoral campaign", says Renzi, adding that "you need assists to score goals". As for the unique list, one party will have a group leader in the Chamber and the other in the Senate where the former premier should run. The goal is therefore to move within the Draghi perimeter, trying to bring the most authoritative Italian back to Palazzo Chigi.
After the tear with the Pd, the contacts between Action and Italia viva have become intense enough to reach an agreement but "at a distance" to avoid any exploitation after the kiss between Calenda and the leader of the Democratic Party that ended badly. “We decided to give it a try,” writes Matteo Renzi on Facebook and Instagram, after signing the pact.

Renzi on the agreement with Calenda: "Don't settle for the lesser worst"
