Calenda: "With Industry 4.0, investments at the Chinese pace, +11%"

The Industry 4.0 Plan, recalled the minister, "this year is worth 9,8 billion euros" after 20 billion last year, and shifts "the focus towards skills and training".

“The Industry 4.0 plan is going very well. Investments grew by 11%, a Chinese percentage, much higher than the German one”. Thus the Minister of Economic Development, Carlo Calenda, speaking at a conference organized by the Mise to present the results of the program, which has among its important characteristics that of having an "excellent capital allocation".

The Industry 4.0 Plan – he recalled – “this year is worth 9,8 billion euros” after the 20 billion of last year, and shifts “the focus towards skills and training”.

"Training, underlined the minister, is the key to ensuring that the Industry 4.0 plan does not displace Italian workers". For Calenda, "this must be a key element to make this transition a positive balance". The minister recalled that "in the years of the crisis, expenditure on training has decreased" and precisely "for this reason we have introduced a tax credit for training".

The second element to focus on in the field of training, he explained, “is that of the ITS: the data is there to demonstrate that we are losing a sensational market opportunity. We have a sensational demand for ITS students and this is the most constructive and structural and least expensive solution we can find".

In fact, according to Calenda, "this is the fastest element to recover youth employment, beyond the taxation requests made".
