Hot, Friday and Saturday the worst days

The heat wave that is hitting the whole peninsula is increasingly alarming and will reach peaks of 40 degrees in some large cities over the weekend week.

Hot, Friday and Saturday the worst days

The heat wave over Italy shows no sign of abating, indeed the "beautiful" is yet to come: the worst days will be those of Friday until the whole weekend, with temperatures that almost everywhere in the peninsula, especially in the big cities, will approach or even exceed 40 degrees. The hottest cities of the next few days will be: Bologna and Verona with 38°C, Florence with 37°C, Milan with 36°C and Perugia with 35°C. Even the lows will be decidedly above average, with temperatures that in some cities will not drop below 25°C.

The absolute worst day will be Saturday, while for Sunday, however, a first change in the weather is possible, with the arrival of an Atlantic perturbation in the evening which could bring widespread thunderstorms and some coolness (even 7-8°C less), even if mainly on the northern regions. In the central-south, on the other hand, it will continue to be very hot at least until next Thursday.

The record-breaking heat is affecting all of Europe: scorching and absolutely abnormal temperatures are being recorded in France (up to 36-37°C, national average temperature record) and on the Iberian Peninsula where temperatures exceed 40 degrees in the South . Yesterday, Paris reached 37°C, an almost record value for the month of June, second only to the 37,6°C in 1947. The exceptional heat does not spare even the United Kingdom, where the June record of the last 40 years for the city of London was broken with a maximum temperature of even 35°C.
