Charon will ferry Italy through a weekend of hellish heat. According to the meteo.it portal, the African subtropical anticyclone will begin blowing hot air from Algeria and Tunisia starting this afternoon, to reach its peak on Sunday, between 12 and 17.
So the African heat wave, which yesterday claimed its first two victims on the Pisan coast, does not stop. Indeed, it is destined to grow, while the consumption of fruit, to cope with the heat, increases by 25%.
In many Italian regions will reach 40 degrees over the weekend, and in any case temperatures will be reached that represent historic records: 39 degrees in Bologna, Florence and Pescara, 40 in Ferrara, Puglia and Campidano in Sardinia, 38 in Rome, 37 in Centro-South and Triveneto.
The 33 degrees in Milan, on the other hand, due to the skyrocketing humidity, will be perceived as if they were 38. From Monday the sultriness should cease in the North while in the Centro-South the temperatures will remain very high, always between 36 and 38 degrees.
