Hot, new African wave from Friday: Charon arrives, and in the Center-South it will last a week

Today last days of normal heat in Italy, where indeed some regions of the North will be affected by rain and thunderstorms. But from tomorrow the "post-Scipione" truce will be officially over: in fact, the new African heat wave arrives, this time called Charon and coming from the hinterland of Libya and Algeria.

Charon will arrive on Friday afternoon, first passing through Spain where temperatures will touch 45 degrees, while in many Italian regions they will touch 40. The anticyclone will peak on Sunday, when the mercury is forecast to reach its historic summer 2003 peak: 39 degrees in Bologna and Florence, 40,5 in Rome, 41 in Puglia, temperatures between 35 and 37 degrees everywhere, even in the North. In Milan there will be "only" 34, but due to the humidity, those perceived will be at least 38.

A possible change, at least in the North, can already be glimpsed between Monday and Tuesday, when cooler winds and some thunderstorms should arrive from the Alps, while in the south and on the Adriatic regions "Caronte" will continue throughout the week with peaks of over 37°C.
