Calcioscommesse, Conte: filing or resignation

The blue coach risks ending up on trial in the Cremona prosecutor's investigation into the 2011 betting scandal – Two alternatives for Conte: dismissal or immediate ritual, otherwise the coach's resignation would become very likely, with Milan at the window .

Calcioscommesse, Conte: filing or resignation

Filing or resignation. They are the two possibilities of Antonio Conte, which soon risks going to trial for the football betting scandal of 2011. The alleged crime is that of sports fraud for the combine in the matches between Novara and Siena and Albinoleffe and Siena, when Conte sat on the Tuscan bench.

The coach would like it at any cost avoid going to trial and, should he be indicted, his resignation from the blue bench is anything but improbable. His defense, formed by the lawyers Francesco Arata and Leonardo Cammarata, however shows a certain optimism. According to Conte's lawyers, the crime of sports fraud for Novara-Siena and AlbinoLeffe-Siena would not hold up in a hearing and therefore we would be moving towards a certain acquittal on the merits.

Furthermore, the accusations against Conte would be based on rather fragile foundations, namely the statements, considered unreliable by the defense, of the repentant Filippo Carobbio. In any case, the coach's lawyers argue, the only crime attributable to Conte would be that sportsman of failure to report, for which the former Juventus coach has already served a suspension.

The alternative, if Conte's position is not archived, and we therefore go towards indictment, is to obtain the immediate rite, in such a way as to close the coach's procedural process in the shortest possible time.

In the meantime, however, the question risks being a new glimpse in a marriage, the one between Conte and the blue national team, which has never seemed particularly happy. Above all for the coach, who would seem restless and who, according to various sources, would not be very happy to "train" so little.

In case you were to go to trial, Conte, therefore, could leave the bench of the national team, also in order not to have to face a European Championship in which the pressure of the field, and of the press, is combined with that of a courtroom. Following the whole story with some attention, because the ways of football are endless and always connected, there is AC Milan, who have already looked for Conte in the past and who are trying hard to convince Carlo Ancelotti to sit on the Rossoneri bench next year.

If Ancelotti were to say no, and if Conte were indicted, the name of the next coach of the Milan could soon be told.
