The sentence handed down to Luciano Moggi in the appeal process for alleged irregularities linked to the activity of Gea has been annulled without postponement. Section V of the Supreme Court upheld the appeal presented by the defenders of the former general manager of Juventus, the lawyers Marcello Melandri and Maurilio Prioreschi. According to what has been learned for one part, the disputes have been declared time-barred. The cancellation also concerned Alessandro Moggi.
The Rome Court of Appeal had set the sentence for Luciano Moggi at one year's imprisonment (one year and six months in the first instance) and five months for his son (one year and two months). Then the acquittal of the other defendants was confirmed, including Davide Lippi, son of the former blue coach.
The two Moggis had been accused of the alleged pressure exerted for the acquisition of sports proxies. In particular, for the former executive the charge referred to the methods that led the midfielder Manuele Blasi to abandon the agent Stefano Antonelli to move to Gea. The same goes for Alessandro Moggi, who was the president of Gea, but in relation to the acquisitions of the proxies of young footballers of Russian origin.
