Finally Juve. Manuel Locatelli, the midfielder of Sassuolo and the national team, a Juve fan since he was a child, had not hidden that his dream was to make a qualitative leap and land at the black and white club where he will find Max Allegri, who launched him in Milan.
It took no less than five meetings between the management of Juve and that of Sassuolo but in the end the agreement to buy the midfielder was reached today at lunchtime: two-year loan and 35 million euros (including bonuses) to be paid to the beginning of 2023.
With the arrival of Locatelli, who will be in Turin in the next few hours to sign the contract and carry out medical tests, Juve are adjusting the midfield, which has been the club's Achilles heel since last year and can now get ready for the debut in the championship on Sunday in Udine in full force. Only two purchases in this very difficult market session for the black and whites but of quality: Locatelli, in fact, and the young Brazilian bomber, Kaio Jorge bought out for 4 million from Santos. Even the Stock Exchange appreciates: in fact, today the Juventus share gains 1,35%.
Nor is it possible that Pjanic, now sidelined by Barcelona, will return to further strengthen Juve's midfield: to carry out the operation, however, Juve has to lighten up on the heavy signing of the Welshman Ramsey.
Then there remains for Allegri's team the great unknown of Cristiano Ronaldo, who does not send signs of impatience and who would like to change the scene by going to PSG or Manchester City or returning to Real Madrid where Carlo Ancelotti would welcome him with open arms but where the president Florentino Perez does not seem available to the great return of CR7. But the transfer market ends on August 31st and anything can still happen.
