Milan transfer market, Berlusconi's expected twist arrives: Thiago Silva stays in the end

The coup de theater arrived in full Berlusconian style around 21,45 yesterday evening: after having wavered in front of the monstrous offer from the PSG, the Rossoneri patron won back the environment and fans in his own way by choosing to keep the Brazilian but now he's cashing in, through his attorney: "We expect a reasonable adjustment".

Milan transfer market, Berlusconi's expected twist arrives: Thiago Silva stays in the end

Thiago Silva stays at Milan! Silvio Berlusconi's coup de theater arrived at 21.45, with a 32-tooth Milan Channel ad. And so the Rossoneri thematic channel (which yesterday had begged the president not to sell the Brazilian), put an end to the hottest soap opera of this market start. Shortly after, the club's official website also announced the end of the deal: "President Silvio Berlusconi has decided, Thiago Silva will stay at Milan". A few words, but more than enough to send the Rossoneri people into jujube soup, and, consequently, make the PSG foam with anger.

“I think these are things that happen – declared a rather annoyed Leonardo to the microphones of Sky, – we thought that the thing could go well, but we always take into account that there are two sides, everyone is looking for the best solution”. Silvio Berlusconi's state of mind is quite different, as he chose Sportitalia to give his opinion: “I don't think PSG have any reason to adopt such an attitude because we have been clear and correct. They made us a very interesting offer, close to 46 million euros. We took note of this possibility and took a look at the central defenders who could replace our Thiago Silva but we agreed that it would be an inadequate replacement. Silvio Berlusconi's old Rossoneri heart made it possible to refuse this offer."

Yeah, but now what about the player? Indeed, in the afternoon, Paulo Tonietto, Thiago's attorney, took the floor, with rather threatening tones regarding a salary adjustment: “We await the club's decisions, but the negotiations in recent days have made it clear that Thiago is the player who is worth more than the whole squad. We therefore expect that his contract will be adjusted to his current quotation ”. That would be 10 million a year, more than double what he currently receives. But Silvio Berlusconi was not intimidated: "I think it is natural that the agent can knock on our door, but Thiago Silva is a great man and we can find a solution easily."

In short, the adjustment will come, but not to the PSG figures. Adriano Galliani was also very happy, speaking on "Diretta Stadio Speciale Europei" on 7Gold: “The credit goes entirely to the president, the fans have to thank him. The offer was very high, but in the end the heart prevailed. Tonietto's words? We will find a solution, but Thiago signed a contract until 2016 a year ago…”. And now what will be the transfer market for Milan? “There won't be, we are covered in all roles. A young defender will arrive (probably Acerbi, ed) and a midfielder. The fans are happy with Thiago and demonstrate their support with deeds." Speaking of Acerbi, in the evening, again on 7Gold, he also spoke: “I'm proud to be associated with the big clubs, but I'm a professional and I don't express preferences. If I would like to play with Thiago? He is a great champion, his permanence is worth a great signing”. Since yesterday evening the Milan fans have also thought so.
