TRANSFER MARKET: Juve closer to Falcao and Cavani, Inter on Yaya Touré

A top player market, incoming and outgoing. Waiting to see how the football season will end, with cups and championships in the crucial phases, this break is useful to make a point about the future. That planning is already starting now, even if, obviously, the needs change according to the team in question.

Who promises a lot is the Juventus, eager (Marotta dixit) to further increase its quality. And since the same is already quite high, the only way to do it is to buy big players, the so-called top players. Considered unattainable until last summer, they could become accessible in the one to come. A question of brand (the Juventus one is increasing and the Champions League could increase it further) but also of opportunities. Those who, for example, could bring someone like to Italy Radamel Falcao or bring Edinson Cavani back to the fold, albeit in another city. They are the first names on Juventus' notebook and this, to tell the truth, is nothing new.

Compared to the past, however, the scenarios have definitely changed. The Colombian didn't settle at Manchester United at all, where he found a proud, and unexpected, opponent in Van Gaal. The Dutch holy man first snatched him on loan from Monaco, then, after betting on him in the first part of the season, put him aside. And so El Tigre (4 goals in 19 Premier League games) found himself on the bench or playing for only a few minutes: it is clear that, with these assumptions, the pharaonic right of redemption (55 million) will not be exercised, just as it is clear that Ryboloyev's Monk doesn't want it back (otherwise why lend it?).

Marotta observes but doesn't neglect the track either Cavani. El Matador had better luck in Paris (18 goals this season in 40 appearances) but Ibrahimovic's presence has often limited him, forcing him to play in a role that is not his. In Turin, on the other hand, he would be the star and living together with Tevez seems decidedly more possible. Much, however, will depend on Paul Pogba, as always, for three years now, the man most in demand. His future hangs in the balance: he can stay in Turin or be sold. It will depend above all on him, but also on the offers that will arrive on the table in Corso Galileo Ferraris. From France, for example, they hypothesize that PSG is ready to put Cavani, Verratti and 20 million on the plate: saying no would be difficult…

Also 'Inter he is preparing for an eventful summer, otherwise Mancini's proclamations (“next year we will fight for the Scudetto”) would risk a boomerang effect. To recover the 30 points that separate them from Juve, quality purchases will be needed, possibly at bargain prices. But beware of the Europa League: not going there (a highly probable scenario) could even turn into an advantage. In fact, without cups there are no Financial Fair Play obligations and Thohir could thus invest without the UEFA ax (if he wants to do it, of course). And then it will be Mancini's turn, someone who knows how to attract top players.

He's already trying to Yaya Toure, a slightly elderly midfielder (32 on 13 May) but still able to make a difference. Then a lot will depend on the exits: Handanovic, Icardi, Kovacic himself, someone could leave and thus finance the Nerazzurri reconstruction.

Impossible, at least for the moment, to hypothesize concrete scenarios for Milan, Roma e Napoli. In fact, the three clubs in question are heading towards real revolutions, which will affect clubs (this is the case of the Rossoneri, but also the Giallorossi) and coaches (Naples, Milan and, perhaps, Rome itself). But we will talk about this in the next episode…
