Football: Turin-Milan, daring draw

Two-faced match yesterday evening in Turin: after a first half in which the grenades hit twice with "Gallo" Belotti and Benassi and missed a penalty with Ljajic, in the second half AC Milan came out and closed the gap with Bertolacci and caught the equal with Bacca on penalty - Mihajlovic enraged: "Absurd not to have won such a match"

A trip to hell and then back. Milan leaves Turin with a 2-2 draw that lends itself to a double interpretation: negative if we consider the Champions League fight (the competitors had all won) but more than positive in the light of how things had turned out in the first half, clean grenade mold.

The comeback equalizer confirms that the Rossoneri have character and often manage to go far, but also that the approach to matches continues to be unsuitable for seasonal goals. And if in the Coppa Italia 45' had been enough to complete the comeback, yesterday it wasn't like that, although the final point may be welcomed in a positive way.

“It was an indecipherable match, very daring – commented Montella. – Unfortunately we didn't start it well but then we managed to play with greater speed and temperament and we managed to get it back on its feet. The goal is to play all 90' at this level and I think we can do it, it's a matter of mind and a path that I'm convinced we'll take to the end. The classification is still open, we are all close and what matters most is to be fighting for Europe”.

In this sense, next Saturday's match against Napoli will be very indicative, but in the meantime Milan find themselves analyzing yesterday's three-fold performance: horrible in the first part, excellent in the central one, so-so in the finale. The approach was totally grenade-style and Belotti's goal (21') came as a logical consequence of this.

The 1-0 galvanized Toro even more, who doubled their lead in the 26th minute with Benassi, who was very good at finishing a frantic action with his back in which the Milan defense essentially remained on the sidelines. In the 32nd minute the key episode: penalty decreed for a foul by Abate on Barreca and central tiraccio by Ljajic, coldly stopped by Donnarumma.

There the Rossoneri woke up, first coming close to scoring with Suso and Bertolacci, then found it at the start of the second half with the same ex-Genoa midfielder, cold in beating Hart a few steps from the goal line (55 '). The Rossoneri forcing, already at a high level, even increased and in the 60th minute led to an equaliser: Bacca in fact went on the spot (foul by Rossettini on Paletta) with much more coolness than Ljajic and displaced the grenade goalkeeper.

However, the 2-2 had the power to wake up the Bull more than Milan, so much so that the final saw many more grenade chances, although the Rossoneri had their chances. However, the final, apart from Romagnoli's expulsion (Napoli will miss as well as Locatelli, warned and cautioned), didn't give any other emotions and the result stopped at a draw.

A point that is of little use to Toro ("I'm furious, it's absurd not to have won a match like this" growled Mihajlovic) and just a little more to Milan. Once again, however, he has shown that he has heart and character. As well as a pinch of luck and that, as we know, often proves to be decisive in the sprints in the standings.
