The federal prosecutor Stefano Palazzi has referred 18 teams and 26 members to the Regulations as part of the investigation into football betting, on the basis of the investigative documents put in place by the Cremona Public Prosecutor's Office and the subsequent preliminary investigation activity in the disciplinary session.

 

Among the clubs there are two from Serie A (Atalanta and Chievo), three from Serie B (Ascoli, Verona and Sassuolo), eleven from Lega Pro (Alessandria, Cremonese, Benevento, Ravenna, Virtus Entella, Piacenza, Esperia Viareggio, Portogruaro , Taranto, Spezia and Reggiana) and two from the Amateur League (Cus Chieti and Pino Di Matteo). The accusation for Atalanta and Chievo is strict liability. Direct responsibility is mentioned only for Ravenna and Alessandria. The other teams must answer for objective or presumed responsibility.

 

The 26 members deferred for various violations are: Massimo Erodiani, Marco Paoloni, Gianfranco Parlato, Antonio Bellavista, Giorgio Buffone, Mauro Bressan, Carlo Gervasoni, Vittorio Micolucci, Giuseppe Signori, Vincenzo Sommese, Gianluca Tuccella, Claudio Furlan, Stefano Bettarini, Gianni Fabbri , Mauro Gibellini, Nicola Santoni, Thomas Manfredini, Ivan Tisci, Cristiano Doni, Daniele Deoma, Federico Zaccanti, Giorgio Veltroni, Leonardo Rossi, Antonio Ciriello, Daniele Quadrini and Davide Saverino. In particular, Marco Paoloni, Giuseppe Signori and nine other players, managers and coaches were referred for "association aimed at committing offences".

 

The Football Federation has opened an investigation, following that of the Cremona prosecutor's office, to ascertain any violations of the Sports Justice Code.
