Which are the richest football clubs in Europe? If the first three steps of the podium, occupied respectively by Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona are not a surprise, some twists come by purifying the rankings and putting only the Italian clubs in the spotlight. Like last year, Juve is in the top 10 of the teams with the greatest business value, but in Italy iNapoli overtook Milan, Inter and Roma in one fell swoop thanks to the capital gain deriving from the sale of Gonzalo Higuain.

Overall, the corporate valuation of the top 32 clubs has increased by 23% in the last two years to reach 32,5 billion.

The figures come from the third edition of Football Club's Rating by KPMG, an analysis measuring the Enterprise Value of European football's elite.

The report contains values ​​updated to January 2018, XNUMX and therefore does not take into account the results of the last Champions League or the various championships of the top flight. The tool used takes into account the eenterprise valueand calculated on the basis of the turnover multiples method, customizing the multiplier in order to take into account profitability, popularity, sporting potential, the impact of TV rights, any ownership of a stadium.

THE RICHEST CLUBS: HERE ARE THE TOP TEN

In first place in the European ranking, as expected, there is the Manchester United with an enterprise value of nearly 3,2 billion euros. Second for the Real Madrid which stands at 2,9 billion, down on the previous year due to the costs associated with the premiums paid for the four trophies won last year. On the third step of the podium the Barcelona with just over 2,7 billion.

Below we find the Bayern Monaco, with 2,5 billion in enterprise value, while from fifth to eighth place the dominance of the Premier League is absolute. In fact, in order we find: Manchester City (with an enterprise value of 2,16 billion), Arsenal (2,1 billion), Chelsea (1,76 billion), Liverpool (1,38 billion).

In ninth place is the Juventus which, compared to the previous year, saw its value grow by 7%, going from 1,2 billion to 1,302 in January thanks to the receipts from the Champions League and the sale of Pogba. The bianconeri are worth almost as much as Napoli, Milan and Lazio combined.

Closes the ranking of the top ten the Tottenham, with 1,286 billion.

ITALIANS IN THE RANKING

Among the six Italian companies in the standings, the growth of Napoli, whose value rose by as much as 27% to 518 million thanks to the higher profits made in 2016-2017 with the enormous capital gain deriving from the sale of Gonzalo Higuain. An increase that is worth the 17th place in the general classification.

The blue club bypasses the Milan, which drops to 18th at 514 million (-6%), but also the Roma (455 million and 21st place) and theInter, which thanks to the boom in revenues, saw its value grow by 14% to 491 million, placing itself in 20th place. Finally, the 32nd and last place in the European ranking is the Lazio, with 241 million enterprise valuation.
