To find the first Italian in this special ranking drawn up by the International Center for Sports Studies, you have to go down to the 33 million valuation for Marco Verratti, 40th – Mario Balotelli is also in the Top 100.

Gold players: Messi is worth 220 million, 87 more than CR7. Pogba in the top ten

Who is worth more between Lionel Messi e Cristiano Ronaldo? Many would say the two are equal at this point in their careers. And if we told you that there would be between the Barça alien and the Real Madrid one a good 87 million euros of difference, would you believe it? This is what emerges from a report of the International Center for Sports Studies, the European observatory on professional footballers, which has compiled the top 120 on most valuable players of the five main European leagues: La Liga, Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1.

So he is on the throne Lionel Messi with a disproportionate value: 220 million euro. Behind him here CR7, which for Cies would be valid “only” 133 million euro. After the two of them you have to remove a figure to read the quotation of the third player. It's about the 99 million of the Belgian Eden Hazardunder Chelsea.

But how did these assessments come about? The research institute calculated the values of football players using a algorithm which cross-referenced a series of variables such as player performance (games played and number of goals), player characteristics (age and position on the field), contract duration, level of competition in the league and the results achieved by the respective teams of clubs and national teams. In the light of these characteristics it seems easier to understand how there are seven Real Madrid footballers among the top 30.

Remaining in the Top 30, as a reference parameter we note the excessive power of the formations of Liga and Premier. Among the Spanish teams is domain of Real Madrid and Barcelona. Only Koke and Griezmann from Atletico Madrid get in the way, a team that won the last Liga and reached the Champions League final. Among the formations of Premier League command the Chelsea, which has 5 players in the Top 30. The Bundesliga could be summed up with only Bayern Monaco, given that to find a player who does not play for the Bavarian team, you have to go down to the 34 million euro valuation of Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus. Italy, as always in recent years, weeps. The only exception is Paul Pogba. The Juventus midfielder, thanks to his young age, his great performances in black and white and a contract expiring in June 2019, is in fifth place with a valuation of 72 million euros.

To find another player who plays in our Serie A, you have to go down to the 35 million euros with which the Roma player is valued Miralem Pjanic. The first Italian is instead Marco Verratti, in 40th position: 33 million euros for the PSG midfielder's valuation. In the Top 100 there is also Mario Balotelli. Despite a nightmarish 2014, the former Milan player is in 65th position with a rating of 26 million euro due to his young age (24 years) and his contract with Liverpool expiring in June 2018. But given his performance with the Reds it seems rather difficult that Balotelli can make Anfield fans rejoice until that date. His agent Mino Raiola knows it well and is already moving in this session transfer market to find him a new team.
