Caio is back on track with Gimme5, the App for small investments

Francesco Caio, president of Saipem, also becomes senior advisor of Gimme5, a digital platform for asset management that allows you to invest via app, even small amounts, in a mutual fund.

Founded in 2013 on the initiative of AcomeA SGR, Gimme5 has an annual growth rate of approximately 40% and has so far collected over 60 million euro by around 40 savers. Each user can set one to five savings goals (a trip, a new house, children's university or other) and share them with friends and relatives. Over a quarter of Gmme5 customers are concentrated in Lombardy (26%); followed by Emilia Romagna (15%), Lazio (9%), Piedmont and Veneto (8%). The average age of users is 36 and 77% are under 45, while women represent 23%.

“Managed savings and, more generally, all financial services are at a turning point – he comments Giordano Martinelli, founding partner of Gimme5 and vice president of AcomeA – customers are looking for simple products, accessible at all times with innovative user experiences, while intermediaries have accelerated their innovation process to guarantee the digital use of value-added services . Gimme5 stands at the frontier, including in Europe, of this change and we are certain that Francesco will be able to offer an important contribution to our development projects".

For Caio, “the digitization of financial services is rapidly accelerating and has become a central element of any competitive offer. In this context, I was very impressed by the development potential of Gimme5, both in the retail and wholesale segment".

Francesco Caio is a more than noble manager after leading, as CEO, groups such as Omnitel (today Vodafone Italia) Olivetti, Merloni Eldo, Cable & Wireless, Avio, ending with Poste Italiane. He has been an adviser to the British and Italian governments on digital innovation and broadband. He is currently president of Saipem since 2018.
