Cacciari at Maxxi to talk about science, philosophy and the universe after Einstein

What will the universe be like after Einstein? At MAXXI we are discussing it today, Friday 9 March at 18 pm, with a special guest: Massimo Cacciari. The appointment with the philosopher is at 18, free admission, and the physicist and mathematician will be the one to question him and confront him. Mario Rasetti. The discussion will concern ethical, philosophical and scientific issues in the era of the digital revolution. It is no coincidence that the meeting is entitled Dialogues between philosophy and science. It will be introduced by the president of the MAXXI Foundation Giovanna Melandri, moderator Andrea Zanini, spokesperson for ASI President and co-curator of the Gravity exhibition.

So the series of meetings to explore the themes of the exhibition continues GRAVITY. Imagine the Universe after Einstein, born from the unprecedented collaboration between MAXXI National Museum of XNUMXst Century Arts, ASI Italian Space Agency e INFN National Institute of Nuclear Physics.

At the center of the meeting, the perspectives of man and society, of ethics and knowledge and, above all, of the ongoing digital revolution: Big Data, artificial intelligence, complexity and supercalculation.

The aim is to give life to the Scientific Exchange: two different points of view and two different approaches for a dialogue on man and his future.

The meeting program continues with Archbishop Gianfranco Ravasi and the President of ASI Roberto Battiston (March 22, 2018), the astronaut Paul Nespoli and the cartoonist Leo Ortolani (March 23), the Austronata Samantha Cristoforetti and aerospace engineer Amalia Ercoli Finzi the “mother of the Rosetta mission, the first Italian woman to graduate in space engineering (April 10), the artist Laurent Grasso and the British neurobiologist Semir Zeki (April 27). The meeting was held on 8 February with the number one of Cern, Fabiola Gianotti and the president of the National Institute of Nuclear Physics Fernando Ferroni.

Finally, it should be taken into consideration that, from 11 to 25 March, at the MAXXI and again as part of the Gravity exhibition, free workshops for families will be held "Travelling with the cosmos", an open space in which to try to build geometries of the cosmos together with educators.
