Buffett: yes to the wedding between FCA and General Motors

Warren Buffett has said yes to the wedding between FCA and General Motors. The oracle from Omaha has sided with Sergio Marchionne who is pushing for a merger with the Detroit automaker. All GM shareholders are carefully watching the tug-of-war between Marchionne and the company's top management who are still skeptical about the merger. Among the most active shareholders, Buffett has openly sided in favor of the merger and could represent Marchionne's trump card.

Through his investment holding Berkshire Hathaway he has an established 3% stake in General Motors. The support of the third richest man in the world could influence the market and bring the top management of General Motors on the road to a merger. The future of car manufacturers is still to be decided, but according to analysts Warrenn Buffett would be ready, the day after the eventual marriage, to grow in the capital of the new global auto giant.
