Storm over Confindustria: after Montante, here is the Bonometti case

Yet another hard blow for Confindustria. After the clamorous Montante case, sentenced on appeal to 14 years for criminal association aimed at corruption and abusive access to the computer system, another judicial storm hits the association led by Vincenzo Boccia.

According to the investigators, the president of Confindustria Lombardia, Marco Bonometti, would have given to Lara Comi, candidate of Forza Italia in the European elections, an illicit loan of 31 thousand euros. Both have been under investigation, the first for giving it, the second for receiving it.

Bonometti is contested by the prosecutor with an invoice issued by Omr holding (the company of which he is president), and relating to the payment of 31 thousand euros to Premium consulting srl, a company whose shareholders include Lara Comi.

According to the prosecutor, the money would have been officially paid for consultancy, in the form of the purchase of a degree thesis which can also be found online. In reality, however, they would have served to illegally finance Comi.

Together with Comi and Bonometti, 2 other entrepreneurs have been entered in the register of suspects with the same accusation.

No comment for the moment from the top management of Confindustria. What is certain is that the confederation of entrepreneurs, which is on the eve of its national assembly, did not need another "internal scandal" after the one involving the former president of Sicindustria, as well as "champion of the anti-mafia", Antonello Montante a few days ago the investigating judge of Caltanissetta, Graziella Luparello, handed down a very heavy sentence on appeal (and with abbreviated procedure), exceeding the requests of the prosecutor Amedeo Bertone, the deputy Gabriele Paci, the deputies Stefano Luciani and Maurizio Bonaccorso, who had requested 10 years and 6 months.
