The BTP Italia has become a certainty for the Treasury. The twelfth edition of the inflation-linked title also ended with great success.
After the three days of placement dedicated to retail, this morning, from 9 to 11, it was the turn of the institutional ones. Requests far beyond the offer arrived in just two hours. The Mef therefore resorted to the allotment. In fact, securities worth over 10,7 billion euro have been booked on the Mot against an offer of 3,35 billion which, added to the 3,75 billion placed retail in recent days, made it possible to close the placement at 7,1 billion euros, a figure almost three times higher than the 2,7 billion raised during the eleventh issue in May 2017.
We recall that in this case it was a Btp Italia with a 6-year maturity, an annual real coupon rate of 0,25, paid with two six-monthly coupons. Going into detail, during the first phase dedicated to retail, 62.563 contracts were closed for a value of 3.757,158 million euro, while in the second phase for institutional contracts 557 subscriptions were made for a total of 3,35 billion euro.
