Btp Italia: it's booming. Almost 9 billion already raised on the first day of placement

In the mid-afternoon of the first day, almost nine billion raised – Hopefully in an encore of last October's record placement, when the 18 billion mark was reached – Closing could be brought forward at this point, giving up the already scheduled third day of collection

Savers like the new Btp Italia. At 17:30 the Treasury bond had raised almost 9 billion euros, which bodes well for an encore of last October's record placement when it reached almost 18 billion. "If we were to record a similar trend to last October we would certainly close early", commented Maria Cannata, director general of the Treasury who reserved the possibility of an early closure at her discretion from the third day in case the issue arrives at too high levels (but not before 13.30pm).

Which may have certainly prompted savers to buy up in advance. If, however, this does not happen and the placement proceeds to the end, the natural conclusion is expected at 17.30 on 18 April. The placement started in the early hours of today's morning and is in its fourth issue. Once again it is a four-year bond, expiring on 22 April 2017, indexed to inflation and offers a minimum guaranteed yield of 2,25%, which can be purchased online without commission or as an alternative to bank branches, minimum denomination starting from One thousand Euro.
