Btp, the Treasury passes the test. Leonardo shines on the Stock Exchange

European stocks recovered Wednesday's losses at a slow trot. The risk of early elections does not damage the BTPs but the underlying tension remains and the 5-year yield rises - BTP 10 to 2,6% - Mediaset continues the increase

The European stock exchanges are recovering but at a slow trot, slipping on Wednesday to their lowest since March. The EuroStoxx 50 index rises by 0,4%. Milano it advanced by 0,4%, around 20.100, after having overcome the stumbling block of the auction of medium-long term securities.

All have been placed 6 billion euro of Btp expected on several issues. In detail, the 2,75 billion Ten-year BTP were issued at 2,60% yield. The coverage ratio was 1,28 times from 1,40 previously, the lowest since June of 2018.

The 1,886 billion Five-year BTP they were issued at a 1,81% yield from 1,72% in April. The demand is stronger, with a coverage ratio of 1,78 from 1,53, the highest since August.

Il BTP 10 year now trades on the secondary market at 2,59%, from 2,63% yesterday. spread -5 basis points to 276 from the weekly peak of 290. Meanwhile, the yield of Waist German stationed at the lows of the last two and a half years at -0,16%.

For now, the risk of early elections considered possible by the press does not matter. On Wednesday, the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella would have clarified to Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte that any elections should not prevent the approval of the 2020 maneuver

The other price lists are also on the rise: Paris +0,4%, better Madrid (+0,9%). Today, for the Ascension holiday, the markets of Switzerland, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark are closed.

Frankfurt +0,6%. Axel Springer soars 20% on news that the German publishing house's controlling shareholders are negotiating with private equity firm KKR about a potential strategic investment in the business. It is advancing in the same sector Mediaset (+1%), than yesterday has joined ProSiebenSat, and Mondadori (+ 2%).

Petroleum up 0,8% to 69,8 dollars a barrel. The American Petroleum Institute (API) yesterday released data on weekly inventories in the United States, estimating a decrease in crude stocks of about 5,3 million barrels to 474,4 million last week. This afternoon the official data of the Energy Information Administration (EIA).

In Milan Eni + 0,2% Saipem +0,3% and Tenaris + 0,6%. 

Continue the approach march between fca (-0,4%) and Renault. The French CEO, Jean-Dominique Senard, in an interview with Bloomberg, showed optimism about the possibility of convincing the Japanese allies of the goodness of the operation. The FTSE index of Italian banks (+0,5%, 7.570 points) rebounds from the lows of the year reached yesterday to 7.400 points. In the last month, Italian banks have left a quarter of their value on the ground due to tensions on the spread and, globally, on tariffs.

Generali + 1%. Fitch has raised its rating on financial solidity to 'A' from 'A-' and confirmed the issuer rating at 'A-.

Anima +2,5%. Arca's shareholders should soon decide whether to proceed with the IPO or proceed in other ways, for example by forging an industrial alliance with other asset management companies. 

Italian post + 1,5%. nexi +0,5%. Il Sole24Ore reports that Cassa Depositi e Prestiti has acquired 33,6% of the share capital of SIA, the payment company of which it is already the first shareholder. The same newspaper talks about the possibility of a SIA-Nexi merger. Poste Italiane is an important shareholder of SIA.

Out of the main basket, Piaggio +2,6% and Salini + 1,42%.
