On Wall Street, futures on stock indexes lose ground signaling a negative start on US equities, and European stocks also turn negative after the Empire State index plunged into negative territory to -14,92 from 3,86 July (lowest since April 2009).

Bad news from the USA, Piazza Affari turns red

Piazza Affari turns negative after manufacturing activity in the state of New York, in the US, collapsed to its lowest level since 2009. A few minutes after the opening of Wall Street, the Ftse Mib index lost almost half a percentage point, while the other European lists also slip into negative territory, starting with Frankfurt which loses more than 1%.

On Wall Street, stock index futures lose ground signaling a negative start on US equities, while the euro changes trend and rises against the dollar and US treasuries extend gains. The New York Fed's Empire State index plunged into negative territory to -14,92 from 3,86 in July, to its lowest since April 2009 and against estimates for an index rise to 5,00.
