Broadcom buys Netlogic for $3,7 billion

Broadcom Corporation, maker of chips for Apple's mobile devices, has announced that it will buy NetLogic Microsystems. The agreement provides that NetLogic shareholders will receive $50 per share in a transaction valued at a total of $3,7 billion. The operation has already received approval from both boards of directors and should be definitively formalized in the first half of 2012. Thanks to this acquisition, Broadcom considerably expands the range of products for the telecommunications segment.
