Bridgestone Corp has disclosed that its subsidiary Bridgestone Cycle will relocate Changzhou Bridgestone Cycle's Changzhou Plant to an alternative location in the Changzhou City area. The total investment, including relocation, will be 500 million yuan. The project will be completed in 2014, with a return to production in the second half of the year.
As part of the relocation plan, the plant's production capacity will increase to approximately one million units per year. It is also planned to build infrastructure that responds to environmental needs. Bridgestone Cycle currently produces bicycles in three factories in Japan, as well as its Chinese plant. Through an increase in capacity, the group also hopes to achieve an improvement in production and the furniture chain.
