“In my opinion – he added – tomorrow the European summit must be concentrated on the European recovery and not on the exit procedures, on how to reset the strategy. This is the time to learn from what happened, it's time to restart and let's focus on the values that have made our home great".
According to the Premier, the British vote “weighs like a boulder on European history. It is the moment of responsibility and not of improvisation, of arousing hopes and not just generating fears. What happened in Europe can be a great opportunity for Europe if we stop playing defensively”.
For Renzi, “common sense is needed: Italy will do its part, Italy's task is to build bridges and not walls. The direction cannot be to turn a blind eye: the English people voted, the vote counts”.
