Brexit, Beckham for the NO: this is how the VIPs line up

After the Hollywood stars lined up in favor of Clinton or Trump, it's time for a parade of VIPs for Brexit or Bremain. The latest purchase in the cause of the United Kingdom remaining in the European Union comes just 48 hours after the vote and it is not just any name: David Beckham, planetary and intergenerational star of football but not only, wrote a long and unequivocal post on his Facebook profile, which ends with these words: “We live in an animated and interconnected world where we are stronger together. For our children and their children we should face the world's problems together and not alone. For these reasons I will vote for Remain”.

Of the same opinion the actress Emma Thompson, who warns her fellow citizens: "I feel more European than British, the United Kingdom risks returning to a gray island full of sadness". Even Harry Potter's mother has come out in favor of Remain, through a campaign by the Daily Telegraph which has collected 280 signatories JK Rowling, the founder of the Virgin empire, Richard Branson, the actors Jude Law, Keira Knightley, Benedict Cumberbatch and the writer John Le Carrè: “From the Bard to Bowie, British creativity inspires the world. Only by remaining in the EU can the United Kingdom be a protagonist on the world stage”, reads the appeal published by the newspaper.

The scientific world has also mobilized in favor of the UK remaining in the EU: an appeal is circulating by the British Nobel Prize winners for science according to whom leaving the European Union would be bad for research. Thirteen great scientists, among them Paul Higgs, explain that "only within the EU can the United Kingdom have a weight in research". Recently a similar appeal had also come from Stephen Hawking, who had called the eventual Brexit a "disaster for British science".

There are obviously also the VIPs who have sided in favor of the Leave, or rather the exit of the United Kingdom from the European Union, such as sir Michael caine: 'The UK cannot take orders from thousands of anonymous bureaucrats'. The actress Joan collins, now 83, wrote only “Brexit” on his Twitter account, followed by three small Union Jacks and a red heart. Also in favor of leaving the EU Michael Dobbs, author of the novels that inspired the “House of Cards” series. Same location for Julian Fellowes, the creator of “Downton Abbey”: “It's a battle between democracy and autocracy”. While the patron of Formula 1 Bernie Ecclestone he even launched an appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin to "lead Europe".

There is also a small party of the undecided (who according to polls, as often happens, will be decisive for the final outcome): among these on the VIP front, there is another baronet, the music legend Paul McCartney.
