Brembo: profits soar in the first quarter, +87,3%

The first quarter of Brembo closes positively, which is on file with a turnover up by 12,1% compared to the same period of 2011, to 349,9 million euros. A growth due, according to the press release released by the company, "to the positive contribution of the main business sectors".

Even more than the turnover, the data on the net profit is excellent, reached 21,1 million, an increase of 87,3% compared to 11,2 million in the first quarter of last year. It also emerges from Brembo's note that a cautious optimism on the continuation of the year, given that the projections of the orders in the portfolio "confirm for the remaining part of the year the growth trend of revenues in all the sectors in which the Group operates", despite the uncertainties due to the crisis.

Alberto Bombassei, owner of the group producing brakes for cars and motorcycles, also affirmed Brembo's intention is to continue "to be the protagonists of a growth path" to be supported through strong investments in innovation and research. In the first three months of 2012, the group invested over 32 million euros, of which about a third in Italy.

In the early afternoon, Brembo's stock on the Stock Exchange lost 0,25%.
