Brazil, impeachment for Dilma

Green light for the impeachment of Dilma Russeff, the president of Brazil suspended from her duties last May: it is the result of yesterday's vote in the Senate which expressed itself with a large majority against Dilma.

The former president, while not being investigated by the judiciary, is accused of illegal accounting practices, which he has tried to refute without success.

The Brazilian Parliament's final pronouncement on Dilma Russeff is expected on August 25 or 26.
